PAPAGO WOVEN COVERED JARS. Circa 1950's. Comprising three individual examples, one woven with a repeating pattern of a coyote, one with birds, and the other with stepped banding and crosses. Each with fitted lid. Greatest height 7.5 inches, greatest diameter 7.25 inches.
The concept of combining the past with the present – using reclaimed wood, in some cases hundreds of years old, to create modern pieces – is fascinating to me. Regional projects never cease to inspire me.
