In the traditional Gallup Throw weaving method, a continuous warp of cotton, rather than wool, is used for economic reasons. As the weaving progresses, it becomes challenging, so the rug is cut in the center and knotted instead of being finished in the traditional way. This practice results in two distinct rugs, which the weaver takes to the train or trader.
