Sunflower Acoma Pot

Acoma refers to Acoma Pueblo, "sky city," atop a sandstone mesa in southwestern New Mexico, is North America's oldest continuously inhabited settlement, which produce this distinctive type of pottery. Situated around an hour's journey to the west of Albuquerque, NM, this storied site has been the enduring residence of the Acoma people for untold generations, celebrated for its vibrant cultural heritage and artistic expression. Among its treasured traditions stands Acoma pottery, a hallmark of the community's way of life.

 

Taos Pueblo is a historical pueblo inhabited by the Taos-speaking Puebloan people. Located approximately 1 mile north of modern-day Taos, New Mexico, it is recognized as one of the longest-standing communities in the United States and has earned the UNESCO World Heritage Site designation.
