Klagetoh Style Navajo Rug

This expansive 9'x12' Navajo-style rug captivates with its bold palette of crimson, cobalt, and ivory. The rug's history remains an intriguing mystery. While initially identified as Navajo, I believe it is not. It also does not appear to be Zapotec. Its unique characteristics have perplexed numerous experts. The weave is exceptionally fine, with one gentleman even mistaking it for cashmere. It is a stunning rug, and a captivating enigma.

• The large central diamond motif seen here was a design element incorporated into Navajo weaving after weavers were exposed to Spanish designs in the mid-1800s.
