Characterized by its delicate construction, fluted edges, and adorned with hand-painted depictions of animals and geometric motifs in striking monochrome or earthy tones, this unglazed pottery bears a distinctive identity.

Beyond its visual allure, Acoma pottery served multifaceted purposes, from utilitarian functions such as storage, dining, and ceremonial use. Its repertoire includes an array of forms, ranging from bowls and seed jars to effigy vessels and vessels for libations. The vase on the bottom left was made using the Sgraffito technique. In Italian, 'Sgraffito' literally means 'to scratch, inscribe, or mark.'
