Crystal

The Crystal region of the Navajo Nation rests on the western slope of the Chuska Mountain range. The region has been known for its fine weavings and accomplished artists since the turn of the last century. In the mid-1940s, artists switched from aniline to vegetal dyes and removed borders. The Crystal style is sometimes confused with similar styles like Wide Ruins and Chinle.
